Happy National Lipstick Day!

Hey Loves,

Welcome back again! Two blog posts in one day say whaaa? Click here to get a life update and see my “Alien Goddess” makeup look.I didn’t realize that today was actually National Lipstick Day since posts have been floating around for a while saying it was for the past several days. Did that make sense? I hope it did.

In honor of National Lipstick Day I decided I wanted to do something different and take the time to appreciate and show case a lip color that I normally wouldn’t wear on a day to day basis, if not really ever. The color I chose is orange. I have a few orange lipsticks in my collection and bought them to step outside of my comfort zone, but have only worn one of them out a couple of times. My hope is that each year on National Lipstick Day that I will showcase a color that I have, but don’t gravitate towards or haven’t built enough courage to wear it out. The goal is to be able to rediscover the color and learn that it’s not about the lipstick that has confidence, but about the person wearing it.

I’ll be showing you what the shades look like on me, as well as my arm so you can see the colors side by side. They are all unique colors of orange and even lean towards other colors as well. So without further ado I present to you, Orange! The names of the product and swatches will be listed below.

I can honestly say that after rediscovering these gorgeous orange lipsticks that I am in love and you can see that I am exuding confidence while wearing them. I love that they are all unique and different shades of orange that I can use throughout the year. They each give me a different look even though I’m wearing the exact same makeup and outfit. It’s pretty amazing isn’t it what lipstick can do? You always hear people say throw on a bold lip color to brighten up a look or simply make it look like you’ve put more effort into your makeup, but no one said anything specifically said anything about orange. Maybe I’m on to something?

Comment down below what is your personal favorite orange lip color or which one of these you liked the most.

I’m getting back into my groove and I’m loving this new creative path that I’m on. I hope you do too. Until next time.

Single AF Treat Yo’ Self Day

Here’s a late post of what I did this Valentines Day. Enjoy!

Hey Loves,

Thank God Valentine’s Day is long gone. Yes, I am one of those single people. I’m humble enough to admit that it’s not one of my most favorite holidays. I’ve only really celebrated it once in my entire life. Yep, that says a lot doesn’t it?

I don’t know if you noticed, but I found that a lot more people are now against or drifting away from the idea of Valentine’s Day because they feel like everyday should be a day in which you show your other half love. I get it, really I do, but it’s always nice to be treated extra well if you don’t get it regularly. Well, says the single girl.

Since I am a very much single girl, I decided I was gonna grab Valentines Day by its chocolate balls and make it my own personal “Single AF Treat Yo’ Self Day.”™ I worked a 12 hour shift and last minutely thought of creating a sexy, single Valentines Day for myself. I went to the store to buy a red rose to use in my bubble bath and rounded up all of my “spa day” goodies. I was going to save my Lush products for an at home spa day, but found it made more sense to use it on Valentines Day. Also, I bought a pair of the Ardell Demi Wispies lashes to get slightly dolled up. All I can say is why did I sleep on them for soo long?! They are AMAZING! I absolutely love them.

As you can probably tell from the pictures, I really enjoyed my little Single AF Treat Yo’ Self Day . I got a little dolled up and pulled out my MAC Maleficent lipstick and lipglass, which I feel is the best red lip combo. I had some wine, chocolate, candlelight, roses, and a steaming hot bath. The bath bomb I used left me a glittery goddess and had me thinking “this is what I’d look like if I were in fact a real life goddess.” All of this was just what I needed and then some. I’m highly impressed with the level of romance I can create for myself. Can you tell I’ve been single for a while now?

All the products and things I used to create this event is featured in the photo between my selfies. If you’re interested, here’s a list of all the Lush products I used:

I hope that this can inspire you to create your own treat yo’ self day or at least to make time for one here and there. If you already do these types of things, let me know in the comment section below. I’d love to hear what you do to treat yourself. Until next time.

Seven Sunday Smiles

Hey Loves!

Welcome back to my blog. How was your week? I can say that I found some more things to smile about. Here are some pics that capture how my week has been. Can you tell I was feeling myself this week? I’m just going to get right into it.

#1  Putting more effort into my everyday look. I decided that I was going to do a full face of makeup, wear a fall lippie, a flannel, skinny jeans, pair of fall bootie wedges, and acting like I had somewhere important to go. I just had an appointment, ran some errands in between, and managed to browse around some stores, but I sure did it in style. Well, at least I thought I was pretty fly.

#2  Seeing a thick rainbow on my drive to work. I always like to think that rainbows are a sign to add some light into your life, smile, or a reminder that no matter the storm, a rainbow always appears after a heavy rainfall. Sometimes, even a light rainfall. Either way, it loosens me up and gets me to remember that life is what it is and I am where I need to be. Fun fact: I was given a Hawaiian name, Keanuenue, which means “the brightness of the rainbow.”

#3 Doing a test run of “Pie in the Face,” which is game where you have to avoid being hit in the face with whip cream. Click this link for an example of how to play. I decided to try it all by myself to see how it would be and you definitely feel the suspense of trying not to be hit in the face with whip cream. I actually played it on Thanksgiving for real, with my 11 year old cousin and we had a blast. The rest of my family was too chicken to play since they didn’t want to get messy.

#4 Spending Thanksgiving with my Family is a cliche thing to say, but it’s true. I had to work four hours at my PT job, but my client just slept the whole time (awesome.) It was nice to get to my Aunty’s where I had a spot to park, family that I haven’t seen in a long time, delicious food, glass of wine, laughter, music, and everything in between. Highlight of the night (which happens to be disgusting) involves my Uncle’s nasty puss/boil thing being drained, my dry heaving and laughing nearly to death, and my Aunty talking about blackheads in places which I had no idea they existed in. We talk about some real crazy, random, ish in my family and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

#5 Looking at the Full Moon thankful for another day on this Earth. Here on O’ahu it’s been really muggy, rainy, and wet (our version of Fall) and I have been hoping for some sunlight soon just because it’s been slightly depressing. It happened to be this same way on Thanksgiving, but as the night went on, the weather cleared up. Me, my Aunty and my Cousin were in the garage and seen the glow of the Moon which lead us all to trying to capture the best picture of it because it’s been a while since we seen the moon. It just reminded me to be thankful for everything I have once more and as a true Cancer, soak up the Moonlight as much as I could to recharge.

#6 Having a day off is just what I needed. It brings me soo much joy and helps me to recharge from a busy week. All I honestly do it binge watch Netflix and eat junk food. It’s not the best thing to do, but it brings me comfort to just be a couch potato in my own home. It truly feels good to do nothing but breath on my days off. Once I have burned out on the same routine, I’m sure I’ll get out there to do more active things in between, but until then I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing.

#7 Going out to eat Guacamole with my friends after work. Last, but not least, I hung out with my friends today for a couple hours just to catch up and unwind. We went to go eat this bomb guacamole from this restaurant where they make it fresh at your table. The service is so-so, but the guacamole is just soo good that it almost doesn’t matter. After we ate, we walked over to check out the newest attraction which happens to be an outdoor skating rink. It’s pretty small, but it looks like it’ll be fun regardless. Click this link to see more about this. It was a short hangout sesh as my friends are preparing for finals week, but nonetheless, it was much needed.

I am seriously loving this weekly post and hope you do too. It really is such a great reminder for me to review my week to see what great things have happened. Although they may appear small, they are still positive which should always outweigh any negative. I have been a little down here and there, but manage to find reasons whether they come to me as a literal sign or just me sensing it was meant for me to see that I am on the journey I need to be and it’ll fall into place when it is time.

I hope you all had a lovely week and will have an awesome upcoming week ahead. Leave me some things that made YOU SMILE this past week. I’d love to hear from you! I’ll see you soon.

XOXO,

Crystal

Fall Favorites Tag!

Hey Lovelies,

Welcome back to my blog. It’s just the beginning of the Fall season and everyone and their mama is doing this tag. I wasn’t tagged by anyone, but I figure I jump on the bandwagon and do one, as well as give you some more insight as to who I am. This tag was revamped by Jaclyn Hill and has spread like wildfire. I never really noticed how Fall crazy people can get, including myself. I hope one day I can experience a true Fall season and enjoy every moment of it. That’s always been a dream of mine and I will make it come true. Just you wait and see.

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” -Harriet Tubman ❤

5, 4, 3, 2, 1!

Favorite Candle

I haven’t been to Bath and Body Works recently, but my favorite so far has been Green Apple Orchard. Hope they have it this year! My faves tend to always disappear.

Favorite Lip Color

Hands down ANY matte deep plum, wine, or vampy color. It don’t matter the shade, they’re all gorgeous! BTW, I need to find this lip color ASAP!

Favorite Drink

I have NEVER tried Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (I know, I’ve been living under a rock!) My go-to Fall drink and even winter drink, would have to be hot cocoa with tons and tons of marshmallows. It’s just soo good!

Favorite Blush

This is a blush I use all year round, but it makes more sense in the Fall. It’s E.L.F.’s Mellow Mauve. It’s super affordable, pigmented, and gives a nice healthy cool glow to the cheeks. Did that make sense?

Favorite Clothing Item

To be honest, I really couldn’t just pick one, but if I had to I was say infinity scarves. Although I barely get to use them, they are just soo cute and really pulls together a Fall look. Also, here is a Fall look I would totally rock if I were living on the Mainland. Who am I kidding, I’d rock it here too!

Favorite Fall Movie

I have a ton of Fall favorite movies, but I would have to say it’s not Fall if I haven’t watched Beetlejuice. It’s my all-time favorite Fall movie and really kicks in the Halloween spirit.

Favorite Fall TV Show

For those of you who know me, I am obsessed with Supernatural and have been from the very beginning due to Jensen Ackles aka Dean Winchester. He is my husband and dream man. I never understood fan-girling until I watched this series and fell in love with Jensen/Dean. It’s a really good show if you’re in to demons, ghosts, angels, monsters, and other supernatural/mythical creatures. If you watch it or have watched it, let me know in the comments below.

Favorite Thanksgiving Food

It’s not truly Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie. I love eating turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, gravy, and all that good stuff. But, if I don’t have a slice of pumpkin pie, Thanksgiving never happened for me. It’s the only time of the year I eat it and I always make sure to have a slice with whip cream.

Favorite Halloween Costume

I don’t necessarily have a favorite Halloween costume per say, but I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Halloween. It has to be one of my favorite holidays. Yes, it tops Christmas, Thanksgiving, my Birthday, etc. I’ve always loved it since I could remember because it encompasses everything that I love; costumes, candy, fall, spooky things, etc. You wouldn’t think I would love it due to being superstitious and all that, but it’s something that makes my heart race and gets me all giddy. Anyways, I’ll just let you know what I’m planning to be this year. I was thinking of being a cop since I’m going through a phase where I love a man in uniform 😉 I know, I know. Don’t judge me.

Did you get to know a little bit more about me? I’m a pretty interesting person if I do say so myself. No, I’m not conceited, but I am feeling myself lately. It’s always good to have a great sense of self and confidence. Took me a while and I still have my days, but all in all, I’m good with who I am.

What’d you think about this tag? Did you like it? Would you like to see more tags in the future? Let me know in the comments below. Also, I tag all of you reading this! Feel free to either tag me in your post or comment some answers down below. I’ll catch you later!

XOXO,
